Black History Month 2022

Updated: Feb 15

This Black History Month, HARRC is proud to host a series of events to spotlight some of the important histories and contributions of Black Canadians. In particular, as we continue to reflect on the importance of public health support amidst the challenges of the pandemic, we hope to use this opportunity in 2022 to spotlight the historical impact of Black healthcare workers with our panel discussion featuring special guest speaker Dr. Karen Flynn.

Be sure to keep up with us on social media (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) for more information and to stay up to date on other BHM events happening in and around Hamilton.

His work details how Black porters mobilized to affect issues of race and labour in Canada, drew attention to human rights, community empowerment, the building and structure of unions, and confronted anti-Black racism in Canada.
