MEDIA ADVISORY: Addressing symbols of hate and the rise of hate incidents in Hamilton

Hamilton, ON, April 28, 2022 – A cross-section of community leaders will be speaking together to call for action to address symbols of hate and the rise of hate incidents in Hamilton.


Media are invited to join community member Amie Archibald-Varley and Community Leaders from Hamilton Anti-Racism Resource Centre, Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion and the Hamilton Community Legal clinic, as well as Mayor Fred Eisenberger and others, for a press conference and call for action in response to a home in Binbrook flying the Confederate flag and the increase of reported hate incidents by religious communities as noted in the newly released Hamilton Police 2021 Hate Bias/Statistical Report.
